About the Museum

The Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum offers visitors a unique glimpse into late 19th-century life and the golden age of American railroads. John Luther "Casey" Jones became an American folk hero after his fatal train crash on April 30, 1900. His brave attempt to stop his locomotive and save his passengers made him a legend. The museum honors his memory while educating visitors about railroad history and life in turn-of-the-century Tennessee.
